REPRESENTASI PEREMPUAN DALAM NOVEL-NOVEL PRAMOEDYA ANANTA TOER

Pramoedya Ananta Toer, through her social reality novels, presents ideas filled with messages of the struggle for and appreciation values humanity. One these is representation women, presented in Bumi Manusia, Gadis Pantai, Midah Si Manis Bergigi Emas, Larasati, Arok Dedes, Cerita Calon Arang. These six novels were analyzed using feminist literary criticism. Using qualitative method, this study reveals describes 1) position female characters their relationship other characters; 2) 3) factors that support hinder Toer's novels. Based on results, women put an effort dismantling (deconstructing) dominance patriarchal ideology, promoting familialism as well gender equality, favoring ideology general.
